The short version

Your doses, schedules, inventory, cycles, side effects, bloodwork and notes are stored on your iPhone, not on our servers. You can use the whole app as a guest without an account. We do not sell your data.

Data stored only on your device

All tracking data you enter lives in the app's local storage on your phone. We cannot see it. Deleting the app deletes it, unless you have exported it or made a cloud backup.

Your account

Signing in is optional. You can continue as a guest, or sign in with Apple or Google. We use Firebase Authentication (Google) for this. For a signed-in account we store your user ID, sign-in provider, the email address and display name your provider shares with us, and when the account was created and last used.

Guest accounts get an anonymous ID with no email or name attached.

Encrypted cloud backup (Pro, opt-in)

If you turn on cloud backup, the app encrypts a copy of your tracking data on your phone before upload, using AES-GCM with a key derived from a passphrase you choose. Only the encrypted copy is stored, in Google Cloud Firestore under your account.

We never receive your passphrase. We cannot read your backup, and we cannot recover it if you forget the passphrase.

Purchases

Peppers Pro is sold through Apple. Payments are handled by Apple, and we never see your card details. We use RevenueCat to check which subscription your account has. RevenueCat receives an app user ID and your purchase history for this app.

Ads on the free tier

The free version shows ads through Google AdMob. iOS asks whether you allow tracking. If you decline, AdMob is told to show non-personalised ads only. AdMob may still collect device and usage data to serve and measure ads, as described in Google's privacy policy. Pro removes ads.

Feedback you send

If you send feedback from the app, we store your message, its type, your device platform, and an email address only if you choose to give one.

Testing features

A small number of invited testers can turn on an optional sync to a dashboard we operate. It is off by default and cannot be enabled from the normal app settings. If you have not been invited, it does not apply to you.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account inside the app. This removes your account, your profile and your encrypted cloud backup from our systems, and clears the data on your device. Guest data can be removed by deleting the app.

Feedback messages you sent are not linked to your account and are kept. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in your App Store settings.

Children

Peppers is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Not medical advice

Peppers is a tracking and reference tool. It does not give medical advice. Many compounds it covers are not approved for human use.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Questions can be sent through Feedback in the app (More → Feedback) or in our Discord.
